My Ideal Workspace | WeWork

Hello again,

After connecting with the people at WeWork I've decided to do a post on creative workspaces. Seeing as my workspace is either my sofa or actually anywhere in the house where I can get comfy, I decided to post about what my Ideal Workspace would look like.

A little bit about WeWork.

When they start WeWork in 2010, they wanted to build more than beautiful shared office spaces. They wanted to build a community. A place you join as an individual, 'me', but where you become part of a greater 'we'. A place where redefining success measured by personal fulfilment, not just the bottom line. Community is their catalyst. (where can i sign up?!) They are based in NYC with locations opening all over the world and they've just launched new office space in London, hoping to expand throughout the UK and the rest of Europe (Aberdeen?!) If you'd like to find out more about WeWork and what they do then click here.

I am also in love with their mission which is:
To create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.

So my Ideal Workspace would be an open room with white walls and huge windows so I could daydream while looking at the clouds and a cheeky bit of people watching. I am bit of a neat freak so I would have my organising on point - probably with things being colour coded and sectioned off. I'd also love a wall of inspirational saying and quotes. I know so many people have this and I'm jealous over it, I just think it really adds a personal touch to your space.
As a blogger I have found myself sitting on my sofa for hours on end and when you do eventually get up you're all stiff and sore, so I would get a really comfortable chair with wheels too so I could spin round (like a child) and move around easily. I'd also love it to be a bright colour like a Magenta or Mint green that would really add a pop of colour! I'm a firm believer of the saying, 'A house is not a home without a plant' and I would incorporate that into my workspace with some cute little succulents and cacti (plus let's be honest, they're very easy to keep alive).

Now the desk itself, a big wooden desk would be perfect I think. Again it would be bringing in the nature aspects but it would also be very durable I think. Another important thing would be lighting! Now I live in the City of Aberdeen which is in the North East of Scotland and let me just say it's a very grey and dull city (weather wise) so as a blogger, natural light is very important but if there isn't any, a desk lamp would be beneficial and like I've said - copper would be a bonus!
So that is my Ideal Workspace! I hope you enjoyed this post and don't forget to go over and have a look at WeWork and everything that they do. Also a big thank you to the people over at WeWork for asking me to do this, it's much appreciated.

Do you have your ideal workspace? If not, what would you have in yours?

'Till next time ...

My Goals | 2016

Hello Again!

So it's a New Year, it's 2016! Cue all the 'New Year, New Me' sayings and all those new Gym memberships that will be forgotten in a few weeks. The only reason I'm saying all this is because I've done it before!! Over the past few years I have been the worst at making New Year Resolutions, well I've made them no problem but I've never really stuck to them so this year I'm switching it up a bit. I'm going to set myself Goals!! I just think that way I'll find it more fun trying to challenge myself, does that make sense?! Hmm, I think it does! So here are my Goals for 2016!

Now I think this is manageable! It may not sound a lot, but there's 52 weeks in a year so (if my math doesn't fail me here, which let's be honest it probably will) that's just under 4 stone! That's a lot - I'd be happy with that! Let's just not do the whole, 'Yay I've lost a pound, let's celebrate by eating everything in sight'.

This may sound like a simple one but I'm the kind of person who stresses out about pretty much everything. 'There's no bread left - it's the end of the world', (yeah I know). So I'm going to try and smile and not stress out as much over things. Plus - you know when someone really pisses you off and they know they have, smiling at them right in the face will piss them off!

This is something I've struggled with for a very long time. Some examples of this is having the house immaculate when people come over to the extent where I'm telling April not to play because it'll make it look untidy! I don't want to be that person, I want her to remember growing up being able to play and make messes! I also want to start wearing what I want to wear and yes, this includes Red Lipstick! I always feel like people are staring at me and judging me for wearing it wen in reality I'm sure other people couldn't care less! Come on Sarah - wear that red lip!

This will definitely be a challenge for me. I'm one of the most impatient people EVER! I hate that fact about me so let's try and change it!

I have really enjoyed this blogging stuff and I'm impressed that I have kept it up (I've now been blogging for 5 months). I'm proud of myself for writing about what I want to speak about and I'm glad I've been honest! I'm excited to see what's going to happen this year blog wise!

Sam and I got engaged in 2014 and we haven't planned anything yet. This is just because we are in no rush (plus we need to save - face palm). But this year I'd like to make a start, I can't wait to be Mrs Sarah Donaldson! (That felt rather strange typing that - good strange).

I am 23 and still do not drive and this really bugs me. When I was 17 I did quite a lot of driving lessons and I was so happy with my progress and I was confident enough to take me test them BOOM, confidence gone! I do wish I stuck with it as it would be so much easier being able to drive especially with having April.

I'm just going to leave this one here.
(Please whatever powers there are out there please, I'd love this very much)

I'd love to do this! Either just go along to one or possibly organise one! I actually don't know where I would start but I'm sure it would be fun. I'm in Aberdeen and there's not much of a blogging community here (I don't think so anyway) so I either love to arrange something here or team up with other bloggers elsewhere!! If that sounds lie something you'd be interested in contact me!
You're walking down the street and someone bumps into you, you end up turning around and saying 'Sorry'. I think this is a very British thing, we apologise for everything!

So that's my Goals for 2016, what's yours?

'Till next time ...

What I got for Christmas | 2015

Hello Again,

Also Happy New Year!! (I'm writing this on New Years Day so I thought I'd just throw it in there). I hope you all had a Great Christmas too, I personally had a great time spending it with my family and eating my body weight (if not more) in food!! Now I have seen quite a lot of people doing 'What I got for Christmas' posts and I personally love them because I'm so nosey so I thought I'd do one myself!

Little Disclaimer: No I'm not bragging. Yes I know Christmas isn't about receiving gifts. We good? Good!

I was well and truly spoilt and I'm so grateful for everyones gifts. Sam got it good this year, he got me the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette that I have been after for sooo long and it's beautiful!! He also got me some Lush goodies and Adele's Album (Hello, it's me ..). I also got quite a lot of MAC vouchers from different people so I have placed a cheeky order so I'll show you what I got when it arrives. I also got some Pringle socks from my Grandma and Grandad and they have these cute little dogs on them. They go very nicely with my cosy pink pyjamas from my Mum.

Now my Dad got me a great present - a box of 36 Tunnocks Teacakes! I love teacakes and if you haven't tried one come and get one (but be quick because they're going quickly!) As a few people do when shopping for others I picked up a couple of things for myself, so I treated myself to a cheeky little scarf from New Look and this fluffy burgundy keyring.

I also collect Willow Tree ornaments and my mum tends to get me one every year so for this Christmas she got me this cute little woman holding a 2015 banner, it's actually a tree decoration but I have found her a home on my unit. She also got me this lovely set of 5 Yankee Candles all with amazing scents and a little purple glass holder.

So that's some of what I got for my Christmas, What did you get?

'Till next time ...

Lush Haul | Christmas

Hello Again,

As you may know I am quite a fan of Lush so after Christmas I knew I wanted to get some of their Christmas goodies and it was all 50% off - Amazing! I went to the Dundee store as we were staying in St. Andrews and it's so much bigger than Aberdeen's so I took my time and had a good look round and this is what I grabbed!

Snow Angel | Bath Melt

This smells so much like a batten burg cake, it's making me hungry! I love the glitter on this one too. I have really dry skin especially at this time of year so I'm hoping that it will leave me feeling silky soft!

'Rich in moisturising cocoa butter, with a delicate marzipan scent, this blend of rose, benzoin and cassie absolute treats winter skin to a softening, floral soak. Drop into your bath water to release a magical Christmas scene.'

Bar Humbug | Bubble Bar

This is one of the products that I just don't know if I really like it or not. I think the smell is a mix between fresh lemon and liquorice. But I love the look of this purple and white swirled bar sprinkled in silver glitter!

'It's all humbug, I tell you. Humbug! Crumble this bar under running water for relaxing antidote of cleaning tarragon oil and fennel; it's a safe haven for Scrooges.'

Lord of Misrule | Bath Bomb

I think this is part of their Halloween releases but they still had a pile of them so I thought I'd grab one while I could! This is such an earthy scented bath bomb I'm interested to see what this looks like once launched into the bath!

'Revel in the bath with this wine-coloured, mystically scented bath.'

Magic Wand | Re-usable Bubble Bar

I have bought one of these before but I haven't actually used it before, April has been using it and she absolutely loves it so I had to pick up another one (Might get one use out of it for myself).

'Wave a magic wand over bath time with this candy sweet re-usable bubble bar wand. Swish around your bath for Snow Fairy-scented bubbles then pop it on the side to dry out for next time.'

Santa's Belly | Shower Jelly

I've been wanting to get this since I first saw it and I got their last one! This is full of fresh apple juice and fruity vegan wine to nourish and refresh the skin - can I also add that it's full of little glittery stars! Just saying!

Santa Baby | Lip Tint

I picked this up just because I was intrigued by it but I think I'll be giving it to my sister because I think it's more orange than red and I don't think I suit it but it does smell incredible - it's just like Kola Cubes, remember those?! I may just keep it to have a whiff every now and then!

Snow Fairy | Shower Gel

I had to get this again because I went through my tiny little bottle so quickly! If you don't like overly sweet scents then this is definitely not for you but fortunately I love them!

'Add a little sparkle to your shower by cleansing with this candy-floss scented favourite'.

Brightside | Bubble Bar

This is the one normal product that I really wanted to try because of it's fresh scent!! It smells so orangey and lemony, I think this will be great for when I'm needing a little pick-me-up!

'This bright, triple orange-scented bubble bar is large enough for at least two baths. Crumble half a bar under a running tap to enjoy mountains of uplifting, zesty bubbles.'

The Magic of Christmas | Reusable Bubble Bar

Can we please just take a moment for this Beautiful product!! If you love the typical scent of Christmas - cinnamon and spice (and all things nice) then you will actually love this. I love everything about it - every single detail from the glitter, to the cinnamon stick all the way to the bell - just shouts Christmas! I'm going to keep this one for a dreary day when I've got the January Blues to bring back all my Christmas memories!

'Foam Alone? Stir up clove and almond Christmas magic with this toasty cinnamon stick. Swish around your bath to make enchanting bubbles, then pop to dry for the next time.'

So that's my (almost all) Christmas Lush Haul! Did you manage to get some Christmas Lush Products? What was your favourite?

'Till next time ...
