Interview a Blogger, Dorkface | Blog Series

Hello Again,

Today's blogger that I've interviewed is the wonderful, creative, lovely Jemma of Dorkface! Surely you know who she is, if you don't you must have been living under a rock for ages! Also check out TheGirlGang as she is the creator of it and it's such a great community of people who raise each other up, it's so refreshing!

1. Tell us something about yourself and your blog?

My name is Jemma, I blog at www.dorkface.co.uk and it's my home for all my creative projects! I love to experiment with creative writing, photography, collage and paint. I also chat about my life and share my hopes and dreams with my readers :)

2. How did you get into blogging? Did someone else inspire you?

Yes! I had followed blogs for years but only got around to finally making my own in early 2014! :)

3. What does blogging mean to you and why?

It's my whole world now. It's my career, my friendships, my inspiration and my passion. I love that it's allowed me to go for my dreams!

4. I personally have almost stopped blogging so, What keeps you motivated?

Creating has always inspired me. I can't NOT create. So whether it's writing posts, taking photos, creating artwork, etc - I've always needed to create for myself. I'd be so unhappy if I couldn't, and so my blog never gets boring to me. I'm constantly looking for something new to create! Plus having people appreciate my work means the world to me.

5. Name some (one, two or three) of your favourite bloggers and tell us why they’re your favourite?

http://www.agirlobsessedblog.com/ - Because Mandy constantly inspires me and she writes the bestest posts!
http://www.witchcake.co.uk/ - Holly ALWAYS brings out my creativity and encourages me to be myself, even if it's strange/unusual.
http://www.teapartybeauty.com/ = Hayley because she's HILARIOUS. I'd love to be able to write and brilliantly and naturally as she does, with her personality shining through.

6. What do you do when you’re not blogging?

Painting/drawing takes up a huge amount of my time as I am also an illustrator. Sometimes it's for other bloggers (headers/graphics etc), sometimes small business websites/logos etc and sometimes bigger projects like my upcoming stationery brand collaboration (eek!).

7. What are you most proud of when it comes to your blog?

Everything really, just the blog in itself. I feel confident and proud of it because it's 100% mine. Winning two awards for it last year was probably my proudest moment.

8. Everyone has a favourite and a least favourite post, what are yours?

Oh man! I genuinely think I can't choose! Erm.. I did love this one - http://www.dorkface.co.uk/2015/02/blogging.html - because it explains why blogging changed my life. So maybe that! And I definitely don't have a least fave :)

9. As I’m mainly a beauty blogger I feel like I have to ask at least one beauty question so: If you could only use one kind of beauty product what would it be and why?

Always liquid eyeliner. I NEED my cat eyes everyday. I actually love the Makeup Revolution one, its so cheap but AMAZING. Stays in place all day, great application and JET BLACK :)

10. What would you say to someone who aspires to become a blogger?

Be yourself! Trying to 'fit in' is boring and won't help you! :)

Thank you so much to Jemma for taking part in my Blog Series! Hopefully you have got to know more about her, I know I have!

Come back next Saturday to see who our next blogger is.

My Product of the week | With HannahHeartss

Hello Again!

Today's post is going to go along side HannahHeartss Product of the week! Hannah features a lot on my blog because she's honestly one of the nicest people I've ever met without actually meeting her!

We've been speaking about the possibility of this being a weekly thing so we're going to see how this post goes so if you do like it and would like to see it every week from myself and Hannah let us know!

So I've been trying to pin down what product is my favourite from this past week and it was between a few things but I think I've settled on the Loreal Brow Artist Plumper!

I have been a die hard Soap and Glory archery fan and I swore nothing would change that, but I think this have maybe taken over (just a little bit). I actually bought this because I've heard such great things about it mainly from Shaaanxo in her blogs and she always uses this, so I thought 'Why the hell not' and I'm honestly not disappointed! I have medium brown hair so I chose it in medium/dark brown and it's the perfect shade! It's a little spooly that's tapered at the end which is really good for the ends of your brows and you simply brush it through your brows and it (in my case darkens them) and fills them in but it also sets them so they stay in place! - you could go into 40 mile an hour winds and your brows will not budge! (Don't hold me to that). It's even got fibres in the gel to help with that fuller brow look.

I've been using this since I bought it the other week and I love it! Sorry Archery!

Thank you for reading all about my Product of the week. Go over and read all about Hannah's Product of the Week! I know what it is already and she's convinced me to go and buy it (not that it took much convincing).

What's been your top product of the week?

'Till next time ...

Interview a Blogger Introduction | Blog Series

Hello Again!!

Today's post is just going to be a little announcement of my new little project, Interview a Blogger. Now I feel like I have to say this, there's a lot of shade being thrown around especially on twitter about people copying others etc etc. Now I know I'm not the first person to do this (but I'm also not the only person to do a lush haul ..) but I think it's a great idea for myself and others to get to know more bloggers better (plus it's a whole blog post about you and your blog - how could that be a bad thing?).

I've had a bigger positive response than I thought I was going to get so I have decided I will be starting it on Saturday the 16th of January and it will be every Saturday from there until I run out of willing bloggers!! So if you'd be interested in being interviewed send me an email (blogsvlogsetc@outlook.com) I'm so excited to get this started!

'Till next time ...

Things that have been making me Happy!

Hello Again,

As it's a New Year I've been trying to do more of what makes me Happy so I've been surrounding myself with great things so I thought I'd do a post on my Happy Things!

Memories.

First thing is this photo. I've been wanting to get this photo for almost two years now and the reason behind it is that there's four generations of my family in it. There's my Grandma Doreen, she's the best grandma ever (apart from my other grandma) she actually surfs on her ironing board - exactly! Then there's my Mum Pamela, she's the mum who would give her right arm, kidney and lung for someone else, then there's me and my Beautiful little girl April! A few years ago my other Grandad (not Doreen's husband) past away and that actually really did effect me and it still does but a few weeks ago my dad showed me a photo of him and April and I never knew he had it so I want to get as much photos of my family as a whole but especially my Grandparents because they've played a massive part in my life!

Organisation.

This year is the year that I've promised myself that I will be more organised and since I have been doing so I feel less stressed! My sister got me this little diary that now lives on my desk and I've been writing down all my post ideas and when they're going to go up etc. I have also just got a desk and I moved things around in my living room and I now have a little space that I now call my office! (It's the space infront of my downstairs bathroom but we don't use that anyway - well now we don't). I've just found that since I've had this I am more motivated to do blog work! I also want to get a calendar type organiser up on the wall so I can see my week/month ahead!

Colour!

I am the person who can normally be found with black/grey clothes on, brown eyeshadow - completely no colour! So recently I've been trying to incorporate more colour into my life which include this beautiful Loreal colour riche Exclusive lipstick and it's in Blake's Delicate Rose. It's a super pink shade but I really like it and it's really moisturising on the lips. I also wore an orange kimono with lovely flowers on it for New Year's Eve so that's definitely a nice change from black!

Homeware.

More specifically these glass jars! There's just something about drinking a nice cold drink from a jar with a handle! (I can't be the only one). I really like getting little bits for the house and when I was in Poundland none-the-less and saw these I just had to get some! I don't care that I'm the sad lady who gets excited about jars for juice! (Bit sad that I just referred to myself as a lady, is this what grown-up life is like? I'm only 23).

New Shoes.

I know for damn sure that I'm not the only person who gets happy about new shoes!? I'm normally either rocking my converse or my trainers but this year I'm wanting to get back in touch with my girly side (not that there's anything wrong with converse or trainers - I will still be rocking them) but I knew I wanted to get some flats so when I saw these on the Next website I just knew I wanted them. They do look and feel a bit like slippers, but if I can walk around in shoes that feel like slippers I am perfectly fine with that!

Flowers

When Sam and April came home the other day with these beautiful tulips for me it honestly just brightened up my day! I really like having fresh flowers around so I'm going to try (might not happen) and have fresh flowers on my desk at all times and if I can't manage that I might get some fake flowers that look real!

So that's whats been making me Happy recently, I also wanted to say that the blogging community and the twitter community have also made me so happy recently! I've decided to do a Interview a Blogger Blog series and there's been such a good positive response so that's made me really happy!

What's been making you happy recently?
