March Glossy Box | Unboxing

Hello there, come here often?

It's that time of the month again where my monthly GlossyBox arrives though my door. I was initially quite disappointed with this months but then it's only one product that I feel is a bit inadequate but I'll touch on that later. If you don't know what a GlossyBox is then I'll give you a brief intro to it, it's a Subscription box service and there's different packages, I have the monthly subscription which is £10 + PP which is really good value for money seeing as nearly every product inside is £10 there or there abouts. You get 5 products that range from makeup to haircare to accessories! If you'd like to find out more just click this link!

Right, onto this months box! We actually got six products in this months box because they have put the shampoo and conditioner together - so that's a bonus! This months box is all about 'Get Glowing'. This is really good seeing as winter is on it's way and spring is creeping round the corner, so I'm in need of some products that are going to help me look fresh!

There first thing that stood out to me was this beautiful brush from Luxie Beauty! It's their Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush which is only £10.42 - I love makeup brushes and this one is going to be a great addition because I've been looking for a brush to specifically use for my highlight and this fits the brief! 'This angled brush is specially cut to hug the curves and contours of your face, making it perfect for all your contouring, highlighting and strobing needs!'

Next up is two travel sized products from -417 and its the Catharsis Vitamin Mineral Shampoo and Conditioner. Now I've never heard of this brand before and I've never delved into fancy or expensive products for my hair (I'm an Alberto Balsam girl) but I'm looking forward to giving these a try! You can get them full size for £16.89 each here. 'The combination of Dead sea moisture balancing minerals, energising vitamins and essential oils in this duo ensure your hair is left super gleaming, hydrated and lustrous.'

Next up is the product that disappoints me, it's the Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream. The only reason this disappoints me is because of the size of it, it's a travel-mini product. I don't think you can really give a product a fair try if there's not much of it. This is to help discolouration and dark spots on the skin so if you have a lot of areas like that then this isn't going to last long at all! 'Working to fade the looks of discolouration and dark spots, this clever cream goes above and beyond evening out your skin tone. How? It hydrates, exfoliates and smoothes the skin to leave you with a healthy, glowing complexion.'

Next up is the 'Hey Honey' Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum. I have to say that this smells amazing, I popped it onto the back of my hand about ten minutes ago to see the consistency and it still smells great! You're to apply this daily, by itself or under your day or night cream. It's also great for using under makeup as it provides a smooth and glossy appearance to your skin. This is a travel sized product but you can get it full sized here for £28.81. 'Infused with honey and propolis (two of nature's most potent antiseptic and antibacterial ingredients made by bees), this light and luxurious serum replenishes and protects the skin leaving you with a glowing completion day after day'.

Last up is this little beauty from Collection and it's their Speedy Highlighter stick in the shade 01 Pearl Sheen. Now I already own this and I've been loving it recently as it creates such a nice healthy glow to the face. I apply it on the tops of my cheek bones, brow bone and my cupids bow and it keeps my face looking youthful and fresh. This is also only £3.99 which is such a bargain for such a great product. I'm so glad to have another one as a back up! 'This crayon delivers makeup artist-worthy results in a few simple swipes. Simply glide across the tops of your cheekbones, brow bones and above the cupid's bow and gently blend using your fingertips or your Luxie Brush'.

Thanks for reading my post on March's GlossyBox, have you tried any of these products before? If so let me know your thoughts!

'Till next time ...

Interview a Blogger, Louise Rose | Blog Series

Hello Again,

Today we're back with my Interview a Blogger series and today it's all about the lovely Louise Rose! She's from York and blogs about everything from Heath and Food to Fashion to Reviews! I personally love her post about the Lush Spring and Easter event she attended, the photos are great! So let's get to know more about Louise!

1. Tell us something about yourself and your blog?
I'm Louise Rose, a 25 year old blogger from York/Hull but currently living in Sheffield. I decided to name my blog after myself because I wanted to blog about my life and experiences. It's my corner of the Internet.

2. How did you get into blogging? Did someone else inspire you?

I worked in social media for three years, which involved blogging. I also studied Public Relations at University. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to turn it into a personal hobby, thus starting my own blog.

3. What does blogging mean to you and why?

Blogging genuinely means a lot to me. I live in Sheffield but I'm not from here, so I don't have many friends. Blogging has been a great way to meet new people who have similar interests.

4. I personally have almost stopped blogging so, What keeps you motivated?

I'm quite a motivated person, I don't really know why or what causes it. At the end of this month I'm declaring myself as a blogger because I'll have started earning money from my blogging by then. I think I'm also motivated because I set myself quite a lot of goals!
5. Name some (one, two or three) of your favourite bloggers and tell us why they’re your favourite?
She Might Be Loved (Georgina). Georgina is an award-winning blogger, who is also based in Sheffield. She blogs about plus sized fashion and beauty. She's really lovely and works extremely hard.
FrannyMac (Fran). Fran is a London blogger and wonderful friend of mine who has such unique content. Her personality shines through her blog.
Country Pearls (Rebecca). Becky is another friend of mine who is also Sheffield based. She's recently gone through a whole rebrand with her blog. She amazes me with how enthusiastic she is with her blogging. Becky also runs her own cleaning business which is an incredible achievement.

6. What do you do when you’re not blogging?

I work for the NHS in admin full time. I'm really into my weightloss and eating healthier at the moment, so I love going for walks.  I live near some beautiful gardens so I walk there quite often. I adore reality TV shows, so I'm usually watching one of those when I'm having some me time.

7. What are you most proud of when it comes to your blog?

I started my blog at the end of 2014, so my blog is now just over a year old. In 2015 I did loads with my blog, attended some really exciting events and got some amazing opportunities. I'm really proud of what I achieved in 2015.

8. Everyone has a favourite and a least favourite post, what are yours?

Favourite - http://louiseroserailton.com/2015/12/15/blogmas-a-place-of-luxury-ox-pasture-hall-hotel-scarborough/ This was my favourite opportunity from 2015. It was so relaxing staying at the hotel and we were treated so nicely. I'm proud of this blog post.
Least favourite - http://louiseroserailton.com/2015/08/01/recipe-dairy-free-rocky-road/ My recipe post for Dairy Free Rocky Road. I'd love to re-take photos for this to make it look better. I really want to work on my blog photos this year anyway, I've just purchased some new photography equipment.

9. As I’m mainly a beauty blogger I feel like I have to ask at least one beauty question so: If you could only use one kind of beauty product what would it be and why?

R&B Hair Moisturiser from Lush is incredible. Now that I've used it, I don't think I could live without it. It tames my hair and makes it so soft. Damn my naturally curly hair.

10. What would you say to someone who aspires to become a blogger?

It's not about getting free stuff, like some seem to assume. Blogging can actually be really hard work. You have to dedicate a lot of time and put a lot of work into it, if you want to grow your blog. If you're hard working and creative, blogging is definitely for you.

Thank you to Louise for taking part!

Come back next saturday to see who our next blogger is.

Melt Aberdeen | Review

Hello Everyone!!

Today's post is going to be a little peak into the world of Melt Aberdeen! What is Melt Aberdeen I hear you ask?! Well (thanks for asking) Melt is a new sandwich shop just opened up last week but it's not your generic sandwich shop! Their speciality is: Grilled Cheese!! I feel that toasties (what I call grilled cheese) were a quintessential part of my childhood so I knew when I got invited along to the press launch that I had to go! (Disclaimer: I am not the biggest fan of cheese - I know, heaven forbid - but I do go back and forth to liking it). Get ready for a long blog post! Grab a snack, possibly even a toastie.

I want to start with the decor as that's such a huge part of the Melt experience! On the window outside there's there massive logo of, you guessed it, a toastie! There's also some typography on the side windows, this was done by Laura Bremner of Juniper Press and I think she's
done excellent work!

The interior is very retro and it works! I love this wall of photos, the little girls remind me of the plates my Grandma has on her wall.

This little chalkboard quote was done by Amy Singer of Cloudy Blue.

As well as toasties they also have soup for sale and soon will have some vegan choices! All of the toasties are made with sourdough which is something I've never tried before but it tasted grate! (get it, grate, cheese, no .. ok).

Here we have the beautiful Mechelle Clark (she can do amazing things with cheese - a cheese god if you will) owner of Melt standing very proud by her toasties - and so she should be! Mechelle is super welcoming and made us feel very much at home and I'm so happy that her idea has taken off and is doing so well! (So well that on their first day open they had to close because they ran out of bread).

If you like Macaroni, cheese and bread then the Mac + Melt is your guy! I remember phoning my other half when I left Melt, telling him about this and I could basically hear him drooling down the phone (what a beautiful image to put in your head).

I love that they have incorporated haggis in a toastie as I have never heard of anyone doing that before! So original!

Now for the bad boy who stole the show for me! The Choc + Cheese Melt!! Mascarpone and nutella toastie!! YES!! I can't wait to go back and buy about 5 of these, the mascarpone cheese mixed with the nutella tastes like marshmallows and chocolate and it's Heavenly! (literally just checked my clock to see if I had time to go and grab one but sadly I don't).

I think that Melt is a breath of fresh air for Aberdeen, we don't have anything like it and I think it's going to be exceptionally successful! Thank you to the Team at Melt and for Mechelle for inviting me. You will be seeing me again, soon!!

Melt Aberdeen, 58 Holborn Street, Aberdeen

Thank you for reading,

'Till next time ...
